Welcome to The Lowry, an inspiring landmark on the contemporary waterfront of Salford Quays, close to Manchester City Centre. We offer a perfect mix of award-winning architecture and breathtaking surroundings, with stunning waterside views of iconic developments including the Imperial War Museum North, Old Trafford and Media City, showing you straight away you're in an outstanding setting for your conference, meeting or special event.

Because our stunning exterior houses a vibrant venue offering a wide choice of exciting spaces with first class facilities, and because our team offers you a uniquely personal service, delivering an event which is as important to us as it is to you.

One of the joys of hosting an event at The Lowry is the variety of cultural experineces on offer throughout the building, guaranteed to impress your guests or delegates. Take you event to another level during breaks, lunches or at the end of the day, with gallery tours, fine dining in The Lowry Restaurant or a fabulous show in one of our magnificent theatres.

At The Lowry, first class facilities, catering and AV technology come as standard. What sets us apart is our professional Corporate Relations team and the personal service of dedicated staff who are with you every step of the way. Our Event Co-ordinators not only know The Lowry inside out, they are experts in their field, able to provide advice and guidance on matters relating to technical and AV support, lighting, room dressing and much more. You'll be assigned an Event Duty Manager, so from planning stages to the day itself, we'll work with you to ensure that your requirements are met, your expectations exceeded and your event is one to remember.

The choice of versatile spaces at The Lowry means that we can cater for every need. The Compass Room, holding up to 250 delegates, is a magnificent round, glass room at the top of the building, offering beautiful views of the waterfront and the Manchester skyline from its panoramic private balcony. This airy, spacious room is ideal for conferences, presentations, parties and dinner dances. For larger events, choose from one of our two colourful theatres, perfect for AGMs and sales conferences of up to 1730 delegates. We also have a range of purpose built, modern rooms which are ideal for smaller events. Each of our spaces is fully air conditioned and fitted with the latest in audio visual technology, and our in-house AV department is always on hand to support your event.

So, the flexibility of both our building and our team offers you the freedom to make choices which will create an event tailor made just for you.

  • Dramatic architecture and its waterside location really make The Lowry stand out. Your guests or delegates can enjoy the ever-changing exhibitions in our galleries or take in a show in one of our magnificent theatres in the evening.
  • The Lyric Theatre is an impressive auditorium which can hold up to 1730 delegates for events such as AGMs and sales conferences. This modern and vibrant theatre is fully air conditioned and the latest in AV presentation technology can be provided.
  • The stunning Compass Room sits at the top of the building; its circular design with floor to ceiling windows and its own private balcony give panoramic views of Manchester and the surrounding area.
  • The Lowry Galleries present the world's largest public collection of LS Lowry's work, offering an exciting and unique area to entertain guests. From 6pm it is available for private viewing for up to 250 people but is equally suitable for smaller numbers.
  • The Quays Theatre is an extremly adaptable space providing an unusual setting for conferences, fashion shows and presentations. Its hydraulic technology allows a range of seating configurations such as catwalk, flat-floored or theatre-in-the-round.
